    Your Instructors

    Karma Jiga has over 50 years of experience in Buddhist meditation and mindfulness , an MSc in mindfulness and has a peer reviewed published paper and various articles to his credit. He has designed a number of community mindfulness programmes.

    Maggie Powell has 15 years experience of Buddhist meditation and a diploma in Mindfulness. She has assisted in and led community mindfulness programmes and helped design aspects of these programmes. Her many years of teaching children with special needs have proved invaluable to those attending her sessions.

    What are the practices –
    These practice sessions integrate the use of mind, body and breathwork. They are simple, effective and fast. They are based on the Mahamudra systems of India and Tibet. Ven Karma Jiga, a recognised expert in them, leads the sessions. They are suitable for everyone.
    Who can do them?
    Anyone can learn them.
    What is mahamudra?
    “Mahamudra is a graduated system of meditations, breathwork and explorations of the mind that let you access the free part of your mind. They can lead to complete liberation.” Karma Jiga
    What will I learn?
    to reduce the number of thoughts

    to reduce involvement with your thoughts feeling and emotions.
    to access the free part of your mind
    to discover the insubstantial nature of your thoughts, feelings and emotions
    to be introduced to the true nature of your mind.

    Tibetan Buddhist Meditation

    Run by Dundee Buddhist Group.

    What are the practices –

    These are the Vajrayana Buddhist practices of Tibet. They involve prayer in English, using your imagination, mantra recitation and breathwork. If you’re interested in the Buddhist path these are the sessions for you. They are taught by Karma Jiga an expert in these practices.

    Who can do them?
    Anyone with an interest in Tibetan Buddhism.
    What is Vajrayana Buddhism?
    Vajrayana Buddhism is a rich and complex tradition that offers a unique approach to spiritual growth and self-realization. Its emphasis on ritual, visualization, and devotion helps practitioners cultivate a deeper sense of connection with the divine and to achieve enlightenment in a single lifetime.
    What will I learn?
    To develop the qualities of compassion, wisdom, and skilful means
    About Devotion and its stages
    To use thoughts as the the meditation practice.
    To discover the insubstantial nature of your thoughts, feelings and emotions
